I’ve never seen anything like it. His eyes looked right through me as he started running towards them in the narrow barn, chainsaw at hand. I instinctively jumped out of the way as he charged the figures standing over the body of his brother. He’d gone mad at the sight. He didn’t stop, he couldn’t. All the time, screaming at full capacity, louder than the saw. I could hear his vocal chords tearing apart. A primal thing had taken his place, because what he had seen was more than what a man can possibly endure.
I ran. Not sure if I was more afraid of them or him, and slumped down on the ground outside the barn.
Time moved slowly while my mind tried to make sense of my part in all of this. A figure exited the gates of the barnhouse. Steaming, drenched in blood, something more than a man approached me and took my hand and pulled me up from my stupor. No words were exchanged, but I could now see his eyes again, although they were not the same.
Changed, by gruesome deeds. We march into the fields.
lyrics
A sickening twitching of the oculus
As the dark fosters obscurity
Left are outlines of their ominous gaze
Shadows take shape
Conjuring blight in the minds of us all – purge
Gloom will be smothered
Be replaced by blood
As we rip and tear and shred our foe
They're reduced to dust
Make way – for madness charges past
Enraged, by what it's seen
Brothers – dead at our feet
Fury, now unleashed
Blood is flowing
Eyes are glowing
Mind is focused
Slay the locust
Put an end to this incursion
Trespassers die by arson
Laceration of the viscera
As the saw plows through our enemy
Seething, breathing, bleeding, cleaving
Ripped apart – by our hands
They shall not walk this earth.
Make way – for madness charges on
Changed, by gruesome deeds
Fear - a thing of the past
We march into the fields
